Expanding Horizons:
Harnessing Innovation from India

Live AudioSession featuring

Managing Director

Atul Goel [BIO]
Senior Advisor

"The biggest American companies are now setting up R&D centres in India. They are not coming for cheap labour in sweatshops. They are coming for India’s brains."
—Times of India

R&D executives today are squeezed by conflicting demands to boost productivity while at the same time shortening product lifecycles. In this pressure-cooker environment many companies turn to distributed development that includes emerging economies such as India. To date, much of this activity has been to access non-core services.

In corporate America, the new byword is Open Innovation. Do the rapidly expanding middle-class driven markets and pools of well-educated professional workforces in India provide good reason to change the dynamics of product development? Is it possible to source complete designs or "whole products" from India? What are the opportunities for collaboration with Indian universities and companies? Does an India team help or hinder innovation?

Top India expert and veteran Roundtable presenter Gunjan Bagla is joined by R&D executive Dr. Atul Goel in a pragmatic and far-reaching discussion of the trials, tribulations and rewards of using an India-based development team.

Topics Include:

  1. Can an Indian services company be trusted with product design?

  2. How can contract research be sent to universities and labs in India in a productive manner?

  3. Can Indians really innovate?

  4. How do I convince my lead engineer to spend three weeks in Hyderabad or Gurgaon?

  5. Managing technical talent at an India facility.

  6. Our legal department is concerned about our IP and our CIO is equally protective of the VPN. Yet our India team wants access to the drawing vault.

To find out the answers to these questions and many others, plan on joining this 90 minute audio session on Wednesday, October 1, from 1 – 2:30 pm ET.

Invite your whole team to join you - the fee is the same as long as you are on one line, just put it on speakerphone!
