Lean Development:
How to apply lean principles in
different development environments
Software
development has a lot in common with product development:
both involve bringing ideas to life through cycles of
discovery. Great software, like any great product, stems
from a deep understanding of a customer problem joined with
a novel application of technology to solve that problem.
Mary
Poppendieck, author of Lean Software Development: An
Agile Toolkit and
Implementing Lean Software Development: From Concept to Cash,
and a leading authority on Lean Principles, is hosting an
audio session that will compare and contrast Lean Software
Development with Lean Product Development.
During
this session she will explain how:
-
software
development is
different than
hardware
development
-
key
features of
lean software
development that
can be used
in hardware
development
-
key features
of
lean hardware
development that
can be used
in software
development
-
integration of
hardware and
software in the
same product
development program
This is a
rare opportunity to learn powerful new approaches for
applying lean methods in product development. Mary, a
seasoned leader in both operations and new product
development, brings a fresh perspective to this field.
The session is 90 minutes
with frequent opportunities for questions & answers.
Teams are
welcome to listen together on one line for the same fee,
just put it on
speakerphone!
